Everyone has heard about the Ed Marko mess. The long-time School Board General Counsel doesn’t want to ride off into the sunset. Team “Anybody But ED” appeared poised for victory when James Stokes was named as Marko’s successor.
Never one to shrink from a battle, TEAM MARKO struck back. According to Stokes, TEAM MARKO got cute in contract negotiations. They also created an “emeritus” position for Marko which became a political hot potato. The cry went out to, “Let The New School Board Members Decide!” The assumption being new members would be less inclined to do favors for TEAM MARKO since they had never worked with him.
Sure, the new members have never officially worked with Ed Marko. But does that mean they have no skin in this fight? No one seems to ask who is pro-Marko and anti-Marko let alone why. One can assume they won’t delve to any connections between Marko and the new Board members. So, is there a connection?
“Dave” Thomas spoke at the board meeting. He gave a vague “let the new board decide” statement.
As previously reported, Levinson’s husband Neil Levinson performs legal work for the School Board of Broward County. Levinson, and his firm Becker Poliakoff, handle “construction claims for the district. As a “cadre” attorney, Levinson and his firm make a pretty penny.
You’ll hear claims that none of this is a “secret”. But shouldn’t someone ask Ms Levinson on her views before a vote is held?
