Did you hear another Broward Schools employee got in trouble today? The Sun-Sentinel reports, “Thomas Correa, an assistant principal at the Lanier-James Education Center in Hallandale Beach, turned himself into federal authorities in West Palm Beach ahead of the court hearing.” Correa was also a BSO reserve deputy.

But did Mr. Correa have other jobs too? Florida’s sunbiz.org shows  Thomas C. Correa as President of CHILDREN’S DESTINY INC.  The non-profit is located in Plantation; Here is a picture of their offices:

Further research shows CHILDREN’S DESTINY INC played a role in producing a  twenty-five minute videoentitled:

“Critical Incident Training Produced for Children’s Destiny Inc. in cooperation with the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the Broward County School System to train high-school students in the event of a critical incident at their school.” (http://www.jdicommunications.com/) Wait, didn’t Correa work for the BROWARD COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM AND the BROWARD SHERIFF’S OFFICE?

looks like CHILDREN’S DESTINY INC got CORREA busted:

“Correa, 46, is accused of signing false tax returns for a corporation he owned – Children’s Destiny Inc., which was created to produce safety videos for children – in order to obtain upwards of $300,000 in bank loans, according to the charges against him.

He told a cooperating witness and an undercover FBI agent in June 2009 that he planned to use the money for real estate deals, according to court records. Correa let Children’s Destiny go defunct in 2001 but he reactivated the corporation in June 2009 to create false tax returns for 2007 and 2008, according to the charges.”
